There may be an easy answer to the following but it is indeed perplexing.
Last night I upped a box of 24's to do some bombing. About 1/3 into the trip (I am already at 25K+) a con below me ups and begins to follow, albeit slowly at first. I bomb my first 4 targets and am turning to my final targets (that are on the route home) and the con is still following me. After I am eggs bingo (and have grabbed to 32K as I have no escorts) the con comes into long six view -- a ME 262, still low and still not in a speed situation to tangle with me yet.
Rather than bore you with the long story -- I get off many sprites from both tail, ball, and left waist guns -- but no smoke or fuel leaks. He finally breaks off after trailing and fighting over six grids and heads away at a uber high rate of speed. A grid and a half later (his plane) he disappears from radar and I get the "you have shot down "XXXXX" (no need to mention the ID, it's not relevant). I land all three 24's successfully.
Here's the odd part. In the tower I check score as a kill in a bomber is a rarity to me, and it's not there. He's on the "top" killed/killers list as my most recent kill, but when I scroll down I get nothing for credit in bomber kills score.
Seems bizarre that I killed a dues from a B-24J, but is absent from the bomber kills stats entirely. It still says zero.
Ideas?
