Panzer sights
« on: November 18, 2014, 04:37:12 PM »
<S> all

A while back I remember coming across a thread where a player had a great right up about the panzer sights in game (Zeiss?) In his article he explained the measurements between the triangle and even had some templates of AH vehicles and their sizes, etc. Sadly that was over a year + ago and on a different computer. Wondering if anyone can help me out as my search-fu has come up short  :uhoh

Thanks!  :aok

Yeah, think of it as Mil Dots for tanks.

Go offline with NDisles as the terrain. Up at A16 and drive to the end of the east runway. There is a 5K drop cliff. Point straight out into the blue and pull up the target. The target rings are 10ft wide. Tanks are about 20x10.

Now pull up the target at every 500 or 1000 yards. Do screen shots of the triangles superimposed to the target.

.target [range] [heading] [azimuth]

example: .target 1000 90 12

Range = 1000yds
Heading = 90 degree or East.
Azimuth = 12 degree elevation.

Range = 1 to 32000
Heading = 1 - 360 <----360 and 0 are the same.
Azimuth = 1 - 360 <----360 and 0 are the same.

If you only use range, the target defaults North level to your gun. You can leave out Azimuth if you want the target level.

Think of range as a horizontal circle around your GV or plane. Think of Azimuth as a vertical circle around your GV or ride. Any gun you can shoot with in the game, you can pull up the target to help you test range and aiming with it, online or offline.
