« on: December 04, 2014, 01:45:00 AM »
When ever I try to save a film of mine as an AVI it just shows me the tower. Umm, I tinker around with the but I get the same thing, any suggestions?

Make friends with bandicam or fraps, just film over the window to your desired size.
The boiling pot is put away and the crab has gone back to sea...

Check the multi-file box in destination options to split up the film, this avoids trouble with the file size.

This should do it, along with exporting them as uncompressed.

I've tried this as well as saving them as uncompressed and the result is just multiple films of the tower or random parts of the map.

Are you doing the whole film, or parts of it?

Does the film actually play in the film viewer?

Are you trying to use any custom camera setups/shots?

One thing, if your video card runs out of resources, then all bets are off.  How much video RAM does the video card have, and what graphic details do you have checked in the game?

Sorry it took me awhile to get back.

I'm trying to convert a 50 second clip that I had cut from a larger film recording.

The Film itself does work without issue In the film viewer.

Originally I had a camera angle set to follow behind my plane, but the issue comes up even when I leave the camera angles alone.

I don't know about how much RAM the video card has, I know the machine itself has a 4gigs. Graphic details are set to what I play in game, which is relatively low with no anti-aliasing and only map bump and detail terrain turned on.

I just play the AH film, set the view, and record with Fraps. I can get the AVI conversion to work but Fraps is less work and the quality is sufficient.

My biggest concerns with using another recording software is the jumpiness at the beginning of the films when play on the AH film viewer.

Is there any way to turn down the volume in the film viewer? I want to be able to listen to music while sorting through my saved films.

Try turning down the volume in AH preferences/sounds.

I've tried that, it doesn't seem to change the film viewer volume

The film might use the settings it was recorded with.
I expect we'll get a new film viewer before I finally get this one figured out.
