Skuzzy, PLEASE lock this thread before it drives the rest of us mad. I'm begging you!
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

I think the point has been made that this is a bad idea no matter how you look at it. I think that the skins in AH should remain strictly historical. If you want an "ace skin" make it for the RV8.

Lol people (aka raynos :) ) got out of hand with it. It would be nice to have ace skins but when you customize it, the thing you add must be historic and something that has been done or plausible. For example, taking a 262 skin and adding a yellow nose.

I would never have minded the idea of custom skins SO LONG AS it followed the historical specifications (IE as listed here for the USN/MC).

If this game was strictly historical, the Ta-152 would be the rarest plane in the game and the Japanese planes would hardly ever get off the ground.

I think very, very few pilots would qualify for this, and I am not one of them (yet). I just think we should reward those who have taken the time to master an aircraft to the point of being feared.....

Wait how do we measure the skill level though? Witness accounts alone can't do (in most cases)

You know who they are. People like Pepprr and Latrobe are known for being very good pilots.

I also have to agree with Dragon Tamer, the skins in this game should remain only historical.  :salute

As much as I'd love to be able to fly around in a skin of my own creation I don't think it would be a very good idea. The temptation to put graphic male anatomy on all my planes would be to great.

How about either a small star above the players icon signifying an "ace" Perhaps this star would be optionally turned off or on.
I havent given much thought towards what criteria would denote an "ace" but perhaps someone who has achieved 10 or however many kills consecutively withought being shot down.  Sort of like how we have the "rabbit" in KOTH events.
