Mission editor tweak
« on: February 09, 2015, 06:44:20 AM »
Hey there. I do not know if this has been suggested, but one thing I've graved after every friday and saturday flying night, doing the missions for drunk finns and other who care to join is following:

It would be great if the starting field would be linked for each plane/vehicle in the editor and takeoff times can be adjusted to each flight separately.

Like I'm making a single mission where, for example:

20 x Me110G-2's would be assiged to take off from field A50 NE at 12.00
6 x 109G-6's would be assigned to take off from field A49 NE at 12.05
2 x M3 with troops would be assigned to take off from field V48 at 12.10

One mission, multiple fields, directions and take off times. This would give us mission architects the possibility to make co-ordinated missions. Instead of just one big bunch taking off from one field at certain time.

Off course these adjustments can be made verbally... but then again.

/edit. And to keep things simple, the mission editor could stay the way it is, only that more option would be available behind "advanced" tab.

You mean the old mission editor Hitech said will never see the light of day again?

The boiling pot is put away and the crab has gone back to sea...

The same mission editor that somehow still managed to live long enough to become fun again :)

Yup. The link can be found here:

I'm sure they will fix the staged missions some day, but staged missions don't result in revenue to HTC as directly as other efforts that have more of their attention. HTC must focus on the core of his business in order to keep freebies like offline missions coming. In the meantime, I recommend that you install an additional, old copy of Aces High Version 2.12.4 as described here:

http://askmisterwizard.com/FlightSimMovies/AcesHigh/Ah2Installation/AcesHighInstallationFullPage.htm

and here:

http://askmisterwizard.com/FlightSimMovies/AcesHigh/Ah2Installation/FindingAh2124FullPage.htm

It's easy to keep two copies of Aces High on your hard disk drive. Use the latest, greatest version for online play, and use the older one for LAN and offline mission play.

Courtesy of HTC and bbosen. :salute

He[bbosen]also set up a YT playlist of how to set up and use the old mission editor. Though it may be old and outdated, it's still loads of fun if you're looking to find that edge in dogfighting fighters and bomber interceptions and the like. :aok

I just hope that when AH3 is finished, they'll implement some of the new feats. for the mission editor(using skins, assignable cv's, this wish, etc.)

Separate start times for different flights including opposing one's would be extremely handy.
