SIMPLE RESTRICTIONS!
sorry mate, you cant own that single barrel 12 bore because you cant show 'genuine need, genuine reason for it'

so in other words, you cant own a gun...

???? the only main restriction to owning a gun in Aus and NZ is around automatic weapons....and even then you can...but you can't have the rounds for them.... oh yeah...and that you can't just cruise the streets with them....Guns in general that is
If you have a gun safe and a brain.... to be honest...half a brain(the test is a joke)....you can own any number of guns

Yep if the genuine need is to shoot up some bottles after a 6 pack with friends and maybe the wife after an argument, which is the case for many...  :rock

My kids are becoming old enough now to not have completely stupid accidents - but now gun laws tightened so much that owning hand guns requires you to show you really are into hobby shooting and owning a shotgun or rifle requires you to get a hunting license. Still Finland has about 2 million guns for 5 million people. It's practically impossible to get a gun permit for self defence unless you carry money for work.

I know for a fact that I can't let my wife handle guns at all. She tried my uncles 357 magnum one time and she managed almost to shoot a hole in my car door or her own toe. Granted it did have a very sensitive trigger. We didn't let her shoot after that :)

I had my own scary moment too years ago with a .22LR. I shot a flat block of steel/aluminium scrap at a scrap yard. The bullet flattened perfectly flat, bounced back and hit me right between my eyes. I wouldn't believe that happened if it didn't happen to me. Luckily it had lost all its energy by the time it bounced to my head.

With all these innocents lives on the line it would seem awfully selfish to turn this into a pro/anti gun discussion.

Agreed.  Really, take it somewhere else.

... missions were to be met by the commitment of alerted swarms of fighters, composed of Me 109's and Fw 190's, that were strategically based to protect industrial installations. The inferior capabilities of these fighters against the Mosquitoes made this a hopeless and uneconomical effort. 1.JD KTB

sorry,  you can't use "probably" as an argument.
You seem to have no problem with it Senior Strawman.
