Split the HQ
« on: December 22, 2014, 12:32:12 PM »
I think it should be split into 3 seperate HQ buildings that are spread out like the other strats. And do the zone thing like we used to do with them where each HQ covers a portion of the country's radar.

I don't care how many bombers it would take to drop one of them.
If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.

Chain them across the back field. As each one is destroyed, we loose some part of our overall radar picture. First you loose the enemy BAR. Then enemy dots. Then friendly BAR. Then lights out. Make destroying one take what 3-B29 can carry max bomb load. Put enough of them in the chain that it takes a strategic effort to put them all down. Then if that effort succeeds, have lights out for that country for 30 minutes, or as players are willing to resupply each location.

Then HiTech would have to trade something off elsewhere strategically to make up for imposing so much effort that the radar command building at the HQ will no longer be the greifing target of ease it once was.

Always wondered what would happen if the only radar on the map was at each base and CV? The HQ is proving the wisdom of not putting in one finger salute choke hold targets that a single player can cripple a whole country by pressing a button.

This is like the old joke that voters are harsher to their beer brewer if he has an outage, than their politicians after raising their taxes. Death and taxes are certain but, fun and sex is only now.

I really like this Idea. Maybe these could only be taken out by 22,000 grand slam bombs which were carried by unarmed Lancaster and then perk the hell out of em'.....

HQ is low hanging fruit.  The city is a lot harder to smash up but unfortunately after it's down it is very easy for one or two guys to drop the HQ for hours.
