For the most part, don t worry about it. Around here we get this crappy all the time and most people know how to handle it. Those that don't save the rest of us more trouble by staying home. If it does turn into a problem that will cancel the trip.

As long as I don't have to fire up the generator, I am ok with the storm. Why couldn't it happen on Saturday so I could make the scenario?

300$ fine if out on the NY streets after 11 PM; martial law for some snow ? :headscratch:   :lol

"The entire city subway system will shut down at 11 p.m. Monday — and city drivers will face arrest if they venture out onto streets themselves — amid a massive blizzard, authorities said."

"Anyone in violation can be charged with a misdemeanor and face a fine of up to $300, Cuomo said."

GHI, I'm pretty much all for it.  Stay inside and play board games.  Good family time.  We've grown too busy and uppity.

So they toss some fines to say "Be a family inside you dunderheads!"

I'm happy how the local govt's have responded.

It's almost 11 PM here in South East CT; got about 5 inches so far.....so not much at all.

I guess the heavy stuff shows up later tonight; according to the news.
It's hard to trust the news shows sometimes during these winter storms; they make it all sound so dramatic.

Snow-blower gassed up................check
Tractor and plow topped off...........check
wood stove "cracklin+crankin"........check
3 days of fire wood brought in from the shed.........check
10 gallons of fuel for the machines.........check
Mama went food shopping.......check
Chain saws test started this morning.........check
Two gallons of saw-gas.......check

I'm tired and going to bed. I'll do snow removal of my 300 ft driveway Tues morning!

see ya;...smedddd

Work @ a 9-1-1 Center in NY, was called in for OT in prep for this "storm".....

So far about an inch on the ground and they say the heavy stuff should start to hit any minute.

A far cry from the prediction that snow would start @ 10AM yesterday.
