Looking to upgrade, again...
« on: February 09, 2015, 10:33:05 AM »
Well.. about two years ago bought a new PC.

About 1 year ago I upgraded the Power Supply and Vid Card.

I want to be able to run the upcoming new game with all the bells and whistles.  I can't run shadows on the current version either, causes stuttering and frame loss.  My computer is clean, and I only run with minimal background services.

I have attached my DXDIAG.  I have 8GB RAM right now, and was curious if going to 16GB would benefit me much?  Would it be wise to spend money on a different component?

Thanks in advance.

Lazer i don't see anything that will hamper your playing the new game. The new version coming out will be generated to more on the video card side, and not the CPU. If you are to change anything i would change the vid card as I have heard mostly bad reviews on the 760 video card not being strong enough for gaming.

Wait until the new release is out. There's still very much uncertainty about which part of the computer would be stressed the most, although some guesses have been made that AH3 would rely more on the video card than the current version.

Think about it this way: If you upgraded your rig now, it would be outdated by the launch of the upcoming new game! Since your current setup is playable with most everything on and maxxed, save your money until you know what the bells and whistles of the new game will require for the best shine.

It would be very premature to upgrade the hardware for a game which has not been released yet.  We are still flushing out all the details/requirements for the next update of the game.  If you can wait, then that is what I would do.
