La-5FN Volunteer Guards in action over Karelia
« on: February 07, 2015, 02:57:26 PM »
Heroes of the Motherland and defenders of Leningrad!

After engaging Fw 190 defenders near A48 the Volunteer Guards intercepted a group of Ju 88s approaching friendly territory! A fierce battle ensued!

I was jumped by a fascist 109G, but I managed to make it home safely!
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

Nef,

That appears to be the gunfighters and VF-17 that you engaged there.  It ended up being a running fight to and from target.  I think we attracted every LA the soviets had eventually, especially around I think it was A57.

It was a fun frame

When you think the fight might be going bad, it already has.

You would be correct. We heard reports of bombers heading East about a sector South of us so we turned for intercept. We were seriously low on fuel and ammo by then but we tried for ya. <S>

Couldn't knock her down though. <S>

I didn't expect any followers and I thought I would get another pass, then I hear "Nefari, check it!" turn around to see your 109 firing! LOL "Where did he come from?"

Was the story of my night lol.  I know I saw parts fall off of at least 2 LAs and 1 Yak.  Didnt even get an assist.  I got my oil popped by another LA trying to cover some bombers landing at 57 i think it was.  Misjudged his E and followed him into the vertical.  I got hits on him, but I guess I just made him mad lol.
