Unsteady view

When I get on someone's my view gets jumpy. I can't get a fix on the target. Tonight I was trying to hit a p51 but like I said it was jumpy. I asked everyone around if he was warpy. They said he was smooth. This has happened several times before. The last time I reinstalled the game and it was okay for a bit. The time before that I reinstalled the operating system and game. It was okay after that. If you need anymore information please ask. Thanks for any help.

One factor that may be related is every so often I get a request to repair the system but nothing gets repaired.  Below is my Dxdiag.

There are days when I'm able to survive and land several kills but mostly I seem to suffer from something like you describe. The net status looks flat enough, the ping time is what it has always been, no-one or only one plane of, say, twenty visible is occasionally warping. Yet everyone in my country seems to have rubber bullets and even the best of us land very few kills during the night. I've come to a conclusion that it has to do with the Internet using different routes from one point to another. It may even be possible that the route is basically the same but the signal goes through different hardware units. Also, each ISP has their own contracts with other service providers along the route. Somewhere between you and the HTC servers there may be some company having less reliable hardware. Or the route may go through an area suffering from rough weather. Lots of variables there and the number of them increasing with distance.

If this is what it looks like, there may be adware in your system. I mean, if you get an error message especially while surfing the Net, saying something like "Your computer is slow/needs repair/needs cleaning, click to repair" it's definitely an ad. Windows rarely informs you about decreased performance, mainly only when your C:\ drive is full.

Other than that your computer should be capable to run AH quite well at the default settings with the HiRes pack installed.

What is the exact text of the repair request message you are getting?   Have you tried Googling this text (it may reveal for sure whether or not its adware)

Also I've used the free version CCCleaner to cleanup PCs - deleting temp files, fixing registry errors, etc - and it seems to make the PC more responsive after.

"Checking file system on C: --- One of your disks has to checked for consistency..." etc.?

If the letter is C there may be an issue with your hard disk. If it's another letter, it may be a card reader, memory stick or a disk in the optical drive. Some printers have a memory card reader which isn't the first thing to come into mind when figuring out hard disk letters with their corresponding drives!

If the letter is C: checking the hard disk is a good idea. Seagate has a Windows based tool at http://www.seagate.com/gb/en/support/downloads/item/seatools-win-master/, Western Digital has one at http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?groupid=612&sid=3. At least the Seagate tool can do a generic test to any brand.

It doesn't always ask if I want to run repair. I can shut down without incident and the next it may ask for repair.

That's what I am thinking. I have another hard drive not being used.

For the record, I swapped out the video card with the same results, jumpy views. So it's not the video card. The fact that it works after a fresh install probably means everything else is working though I have thought it could be the mainboard and ram. I guess that's about the whole computer.

I installed the new hard drive and so far so good. I will tell you that wow the numerous updates. I took out the WD and installed a Seagate, 500 vs. 1T.
