Computer program question???
« on: March 08, 2015, 08:03:22 PM »
I know there are some computer gurus that come round here, so I am appealing for your help.

I returned from an overnight campout last weekend to find my place was burglarized.  They took pretty much everything they could see of value, including some items that hold great sentimental value for me.

The state Troopers are investigating, and they apparently cover all the pawn shops with an ongoing list of stolen merchandise.  Meanwhile I have been spending over an hour every night online searching for any sign of my stuff for sale online.

This has been very tiring, searching a half dozen different online classifieds sites for dozens of keywords every day.  So far I've had no luck, but I don't want to give up.  I figure it could be weeks or even months before something might pop up that gives them away.

So my question, is there any computer program, that I can set up to run these searches for me daily?  Like I could input a list of websites to search, and keywords to search on those sites and it would just notify me if anything new pops up?  This includes several buy/sell Facebook groups I've now joined, trouble is that they are absolutely clogging up my FB feed with junk I don't care about.

If it helps the websites I'm searching now are Alaska's List, Craigslist for 3 different areas (Fairbanks, Anchorage and Kenai) eBay (sorted by nearest to me) and 5 local buy/sell FB groups.

Thanks in advance for any help.

EDIT: I'd also like to expand the search to Anchorage area FB buy/sell groups but my FB feed already to full for me to keep up with.
