Aces High Wikipedia page.
« on: March 03, 2015, 05:10:06 AM »
I just looked up Aces High on Wikipedia and I got to say the page looks dismal. Could somebody who is good at words edit it?

Not sure what your problem with it specifically is, I looked it over and it did find some out of date information:

Quote
Although the selection of ground vehicles is a little lacking, it is beginning to be improved with the upcoming addition of the M4A3 and the M4A3(76) (a version armed with a 76mm high velocity gun as opposed to a 75mm low velocity gun, which would give better anti-tank capabilities at the cost of less powerful high-explosive shells.)

My 2 cents: It is an encyclopedia entry after all, so it has to be objective and neutral, not exciting.  I compared it to War Thunder's wiki entry, and I think it would be nice if AH's entry included a development timeline, and a little more info about development.

Also completely lacking is the "Reception" section - War Thunder includes reviews and scores from Metagamer, Eurogamer, Gamespot, IGN, PC Gamer, etc.  I went to these sites and searched on Aces High and either found nothing or the most recent article referring to Combat Tour's announcement back in 2003.  AH has been flying under game reviewer's radar for more than a decade.   I hope that changes when the next release comes out.

 :salute

Well as you see skuzzy removed the quote because it really painted AH in a bad light. And it was written in a very amateurish way. It gave me the impression that it was written by a disgruntled former player of AH.

This is where I was looking, and I didn't see anything derogatory.  In fact I didn't see any player reviews or links to reviews...

btw, in my searches I discovered this image on one of the sites.  I think its an excellent piece of marketing and very exciting visually.  Of course for the US market I suppose we'd need to see Mustangs, Thunderbolts, or Lightnings, but the Typhoon with rockets and those 4x20mm wing cannons has always moved me - reminds me of the box cover of the 1/48 scale plastic model I had as a kid:

You saw it after skuzzy already fixed it. Thanks Skuzzy.
