Just finished.  Yup.  PBS does it again.

Star Trek was on Thurs. night. I remember. Then they moved it to another slot and really hurt the show. Who knows? It might have lasted 5 or 6 seasons had they left it alone. During a really crap time in History it actually gave one hope the human race just might not be a bunch of morons forever.

Unfortunately, it was wrong....we are morons......always will be.

I remember one warm Summer evening as a ten year old. Our neighbour kindly invited me into his garage where he was working to show me the basics of car mechanics. I was keen until I heard the theme music of Star Trek streaming from the open windows of my house. I knew it would be rude to rush back into the house and I thought 'Oh no I'll never get to see that episode ever again!'

Little did I know!

Yes those shows did give one hope for the future of mankind. As did the later versions. But yes we humans are morons and will forever be. Imagine what would happen if we hold of the kind of technology they have access too?  Not that we will. I no longer believe we have a future in space other than what we have now and perhaps a pointless trip to Mars and back.

Here on Earth we descend back into barbarism by the day and a war to decide the fate of civilisation seems inevitable. We could only hope there are benign aliens out there like the Vulcans who would put manners on us.

Not that they exist.

The entire Pioneers of Television series is great. I have 13 episodes on DVR.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.
