I'm afraid Mr Bailey from Fleet in Hants doesn't understand the situation either. For a start Saudia Arabia does not support IS now although Saudi money did find it's way to them. IS is now as much of a threat to the Saudis as it is to the rest of us.

But the clincher is Aubrey's inaccurate and semi racist comment at the end. An attitude which is very common among the left wing chattering classes in the western world: 'And all this was started by us invading a country blah blah etc etc yawn, (heard it all before)

This is classic western hubris. Apparently the Arabs and Muslims are incapable of having their own wars and disagreements by themselves. We in the 'west' caused it all. It's always 'our' fault. The truth is that right now and for centuries the there is a huge schism between the Shia and the Sunni. This is the real battle. It's somewhat analogous to the religious wars in Europe hundreds of years ago.

Yes 'western' interference has had it's impact but this about Muslims themselves and it's about power. The Saudis are more culpable as the article you linked to makes clear. They are also most likely to be the people who can defeat IS.

Your posts are contradictory. I'm not sure what point you are trying to make.
