19th Sentai Ki-61

This is an adaptation (with the author's permission) of an old IL-2 skin for the Hein.   I wanted to see how it would look in AH, and it does look very good I think.   I have the author's (R0NNC0) permission - should I submit it?   I don't like the idea of taking credit for someone else's work, but then I really like the idea of flying this skin online in AH:

Don't take this as criticism, but why didn't you just make your own skin of this scheme? You've made skins before and are certainly capable enough to do it completely by yourself. That said, it does look great and I'm sure it wasn't that easy to make their template fit ours.

Hey Devil, that's a completely understandable reaction.  Suffice to say I was curious how such a high quality skin made for IL-2 would look inside our game.   Thanks, I'm not as sure I could reach this level of quality, although with time and practice I might be able to.  It's really interesting to see the template for a high quality Tony skin.  The default AH Ki-61 template leaves a lot to be desired, but then it IS a very old model in our game.   That also means any time invested in developing a skin from scratch for the Ki-61 will be lost as soon as that aircraft is upgraded - as all the current skins will be eliminated when that occurs.  The Ki-61 texture map is weird in that it involves 2 separate bmp files, and that seems sure to change.   The Ki-61 is very old and MUST be pretty close to being upgraded (finger's crossed).  This seemed like a quick-hitter way to get a nice skin for the Hien into the game without risking too much loss of effort when the upgrade happens.

Texture maps are a collaborative process. You are working with the original texture maker guy with their approval. All is well with everything no egos are bruised everyone wins.
