Fa 223 "Drache"

I understand HTC is still busy with the graphics update. That that should take presence goes without saying.

However, I feel the next content update should be the Fa 223. The MA, which is the main portion of the game, is already saturated with heavy bombers, über late war fighters, and the like. This, on the other hand, would provide a very new, unique, and useful addition to the gameplay.

I imagine it being used in very similar fashion to how it was intended to be used in real life. That is to say, scouting, resupply, and other such duties.

Deoend on whether or not HTC decides to give it troop, it would provide a very stealthy, if slow, method of inserting troops. 2-3 Dragons could fly below treetop height, avoiding radar and enemy fighters fairly easily, and drop when needed.

Carrying over 2000lbs of cargo, I feel it should carry both airfield and vehicle cargo. As an M3, or C-47 couldn't carry a significant amount of supplies for an entire airbase, we can take it to be a point of gameplay concession

Vehicle supplies could be carried, and more easily delivered than via the storch. Although the low landing speed is no doubt useful, trees still pose an obstacle in some cases.

I would propose that it be allowed to lift from vehicle bases as well, given that the intention was to have it be used for mountain warfare, it would have necessarily landed and operated from unpaved fields at times. However, I propose that it's bombs be disabled at vehicle bases as well, for obvious reasons.

Another thought. It might make a decent gunship for use against troops and light vehicles, since it can hover and keep sustained fire on a target.

I suspect even that single 7.62mm mg will do better than one would intrinsically think.

The Sikorsky R-4 was be a nice addition as well since it also served in pretty much the same role for the US as the Drache did for the Germans, and it was also the first helicopter to fly a combat rescue mission when it was used in the CBI.  It was also used by the USN to ferry supplies around in the repair fleets.

I'm not seeing a weigh limit for the R-4. Would it be gamey to give it even vehicle supplies?

I can see a new accomplishment.

Land on top of an enemy tank and shoot the commander.
