Information on the next Aces High Scenario event, "Today's Target" is located here:
http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,370688.0.htmlThis will be a 12 hour marathon re-creating a single day of air operations in the European Theater.
No. 2 Bomber Group RAF is looking for pilots interested in flying some of the more challenging missions available on that day. These missions will be more difficult and varied than standard strat raids, fighter escort or fighter sweeps. Right now we are looking for squadrons for these birds:
Mosquito Mk. VI
The Mossie is the only true multi-mission aircraft in the scenario. It is a capable fighter at low altitudes, especially against the mid-war aircraft we are going up against. Expect a wide variety of missions and the chance to do some damage to enemy installations while racking up a decent kill score at the same time. Two squadrons are currently forming up, and I would love to have a third if at all possible. Individual Pilots, squadrons and squad leaders needed.
B-25C
The glass-nose variant of the B-25C will be employed on quick strike missions that will take advantage of its accuracy and bomb load. While the B-17's and B-24's have the luxury of long climb-outs in huge formations, the medium bomber pilots will face the challenge of getting to target at medium to low altitude in the face of certain fighter attacks. You will have a wider variety of targets than the heavies and the number of sorties will generally be higher as you will not regularly be facing long climb-outs to high altitude. Currently there are several B-17 and B-24 squadrons registered for the event, but nobody has stepped up to the challenge of flying this bird. One squadron of 4-6 pilots would be a huge asset. Looking for bomber pilots unafraid of risk and wanting the distinction of standing out from the crowd.
A-20
The A-20 is our low-level hit and run specialist. With it's sizable payload and durability, the A-20 will be employed for low and medium level dive bombing runs on critical targets. While not as popular in the MA, the A-20 is a very effective attacker against the mid-war plane set and its six nose-mounted 50's will give the German pilots something to seriously consider before taking it on. Jabo experts and pilots looking for the excitement of sneaking in under the 'dar deep into enemy territory should consider joining up. Squadron leaders and pilots needed.
Our bomber group will be the elite attack force in this upcoming scenario. We have a unique and interesting plane set and our missions will be exciting and challenging. If you want to step away from the mundane and try something different, if you want to face difficult missions where the odds aren't always in your favor, then please consider signing on with us. Remember our motto: YOU MAY DIE BUT YOU WILL NOT BE BORED.
Interested pilots post below or PM Wing Commander Muzzy for further info.
