Vehicle Position Damage
« on: April 15, 2015, 11:04:03 PM »
Assuming that a damaged position means that the crew member is dead/incapacitated rather than the position itself being simply disabled, I'd like to for damage to prevent players from moving to the effected position. One exception I can think of is that it is possible to damage only one of the twin .50s on the B-17 tail position without taking out the entire position (not sure if this is intentional or a bug) - I can't think of any instances of gunner/observer positions being wounded like a pilot. This would create a new twist to tactical gameplay in the creation of a blind spot. Now, I understand a lot of multi-crew planes have F3 enabled for greater situational awareness regardless of damage. However, I don't think players should be able to operate or direct other functioning positions using the "all fire" button from these damaged positions. In order to cover an area within the damaged positions zone of defense, a player would have to switch to another position either within the main vehicle or a trailing drone. A message could pop up stating "the position has been destroyed" similar to the destroyed drone message.

Basically, the point is "dead men tell know tales" and neither do destroyed gunners/observers.

broken guns already don't work :headscratch:. BTW damaged position means that gun is broken

I think what he is saying it that even though the tail gunner postion is destroyed you can still get in the tail gunner postion and direct fire for the other guns even though the tail guns don't work. You should have to move to a postion with a working gun to direct fire using the "fire all guns" button. Obviously aiming from the rear gun is optimal I agree if the guns don't work you should have to change postions to direct fire.
