Assist for Storch Pilots
« on: April 08, 2015, 03:44:23 PM »
Flying the Storch is risky business. When assisting other friendly GV'ers, the Storch pilot performing spotting and marking should at least receive an "assist" for their efforts.  Perhaps putting a criteria that the marker must be with 50 meters of the target to receive the "assist" would help too.

An "assist" means absolutely nothing in this game though?

(aside from the text buffer saying it)

Assist have kill points of their own... Usually from contact from bullets... But for being classed as a bobeer it really is meaningless...

Next time you do some spotting make sure you fly in attack and ping what you spot with your peashooter and earn some killpoints for the assist.

+1 to this.  The Storch is a great little plane.  Spotting was actually very important.  Still is.  Would be nice to have a little something to sweeten this little plane up a bit. :aok

This is why I suggest doing all your tank spotting in a Hurricane IID.  Nothing marks a tank better than 40MM AP. :aok

Add the Fa 223! Carry a pair of 500kg bombs, fly right over their heads, and release!

The Drache, spotting tanks 500kg at a time. Also, it did have a forward firing machine gun, so you could easily get assists if you wanted.

Depends on what "nothing" means.  Assists do effect score and perks awarded, so you at least get something from the deal.

I do try to protect the storch folks when I can.  Normally though, I am fighting for my own life :)

As far as I know you get zero perks for an assit? Or am I wrong? You can up a plane get 1 assit and land and you will have 0 perks. So getting assits in a stroch will get you 0 perks unless you get the kill.
