The 22nd Bombardment Group was created on the U.S. East Coast just after the start of the Second World War, training with a mix of B-18 Bolos and B-26 Marauders.
In the aftermath of Pearl Harbor, the 22nd Bombardment Group was transferred to the West Coast, flying anti-submarine patrols from Muroc, California from December 1941 to the end of January 1942.

Then we have the 654th Bombardment Squadron (Special) flew night aerial photographic reconnaissance missions. They used several aircraft types, one of which was the B26. Upper OD with glossy night undersides.

Finally a 39 Squadron RAF, 39 squadron Marauders began to arrive in December 1944 and it resumed operations in February 1945, operating over the Balkans, Italy and France.
