Actually, I didn't credit the quote to him because there's debate that he may have not made the quote. The quote itself is actually presumed to be one he made on behalf of the Pennsylvania Assembly, but it cannot be confirmed.

A current trend in progressive society is to claim that our Founders and other similar figures said many things that they didn't. Blindly accepting those quotes without proof undermines the arguments of those that use the quote.

Noted, but I wasn't claiming the quote as my own. I could have posted "e=mc^2"; doing so doesn't credit the statement to me, it simply presents it as a fact, which is all my statement was. Then again, the circles I frequent are familiar with a majority of our Founders' language and citations are rarely required, so perhaps I took that for granted.

All that stated, I was speaking to a bellwether who's been conditioned to accept a nanny-state existence, so I didn't want to complicate matters too much. Something about keeping things below an 8th-grade reading level.

They are in the UK.  The process started in the 1600s and ended in 2012.  No thanks - Americans will stick to the Constitution and keep our arms (for pigs and all sorts of game, but mostly to stop tyranny)

The rule in my house is at least two firearms and 5,000 rounds of ammunition for every person, regardless of age. I've already purchased two AR-15's for my one-year old son. He may or may not grow up to be a "gun" guy, but he will most definitely grow up to understand why we own them and why they are essential to liberty.
