Nothing to be smug about :old:

They will be more to fill their places.

We have these sort of people planting bombs in the UK for the last 40 years.

15 seconds from opening shots to both threats neutralized, could have gone a lot worse as demonstrated in Paris. God bless armed police in the right place at the right time;  :salute LEO's

 :D probably true
The real problem is anyone should feel like they can come to this forum and make a wish without being treated in a derogatory manner.  The only discussion should be centered around whether it would work, or how it would work and so on always in a respectful manner.

On an Irish discussion forum this subject started with
Quote
Well, thankfully no real people were killed

Soon  someone turned up and said:
Quote
Hilarious! 2 people are dead. They may have been the gunmen but two human beings are still dead.

Which among others generated this reply:
Quote
Wow I never thought I'd see the day. There you have it folks - some people will defend absolutely anything to win the award of Board's most "right-on" liberal.

But I have to say they were easily the two most useless jihadists in the entire history of stupid and pointless terrorism.

To be fair though the police in Texas were absolutely expecting something unlike their unfortunate colleagues in Paris.

But by all means congratulate the police for this success. But remember the chilling words of the IRA when they failed to kill the British Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher:
Quote
Today we were unlucky, but remember we only have to be lucky once. You will have to be lucky always.

That's the reality.

A short two blocks from my home resides a Muslim Mosque. In the 14 years I've lived in this neighborhood I have never encountered a single Muslim on the street, and have only observed a few women shopping at the neighborhood stores. So, tomorrow I think I'll walk my dogs into their compound and introduce myself and ask what all the fuss is about around the world, and ask, why it is not happening here in our Community?

The event in Garland was an ill thought out idea even though it is our first amendment right to participate in them.  We need to keep in mind that these vermin do not think like us and would, cheerfully and without hesitation, take as many as they could out in a single strike.
I disagree ,, the event was well planned and well secured,, almost 40 police and private security officers were there.
You may mean that the exorcize of our first amendment was an ill thought out idea?

One thing you need to remember,,  "Terrorists cannot be accommodated out of existence."
Lucky the game warden wasn't around,, I'm pretty sure it's illegal to hunt in a baited field !

Actually he would probably be invited in and treated VERY kindly if it is a Middle Eastern Mosque. Coffee and food would be a must have. I have quite a few Middle Eastern clients (Syrian, Iranian, Saudi) Muslim and Christian and their culture is all about hospitality. Something I think our western culture is severely lacking. I had one Muslim client just this year (a UN diplomat attached to the Kuwait delegation) text me on Easter Sunday and wish me a happy holiday. Personally am in awe of many aspects of their culture. They are wonderful people, and just as disgusted by the extremists as we are.
