I remember when the news was just that.  The News.  Now the media's job is to wrest your mind and your soul from you and placed in their control.

We have become politically biased, we MUST purchase this toothpaste and we must think their way.  Sometime the media makes me think that doing

so is their job, being directed by a separate entity.  They hate individuality, free thinking ( including using intelligence to discern if their rants and raves are bullhockey.)

The American people are becoming mindless robots, the borg, mindlessly following whatever sounds feasible without fact. It's all about money and power.

Free thinking is not taught in our colleges anymore.  We must conform! If the professor is teaching bullhockey, which btw many people don't recognize

anymore, the professor must be right because after all he is a Professor.  Question everything!  Use your intelligence!  Don't let someone else decide what

you must believe!  Do that yourself.  Remember what the media calls fact just may be not so.  Don't hold them in such high regard.  They don't deserve it!

That was a remarkable story, Ink.

I know there are plenty of stories like this and I long to be inspired by them.  Rather then be 'entertained' by what passes today for journalism.

Great post.

Truly remarkable, even with the bias embellishments.  The trollybus in September, water is at it's warmest in that area in mid September, not freezing as quoted in the story,  Look at the associated picture of the event and take notice of how everyone is dressed.

I don't care if there are imbellishments, if half of that is even close to what happened, he's still one of the more awesome examples of humanity I've heard of.  Good on him.

At 10 meters deep (30 feet), there is most likely a thermocline in the lake.  It could very well have been around 40-50F
