Tough choices indeed.  For me it would probably about wringing the plane out in low altitude aerobatics, so jets/rockets would be out unless it was about pure acceleration/speed.  Top contenders for the aerobatics side of it would be Fokker Dr1, Bf109 (F or earlier model), FW190A.  If it was about acceleration/speed Me163, F-22 (or whatever is the highest thrust/weight modern jet) perhaps even x-44 manta.   In the end I think the Dr1 would probably win.

Not sure why anyone would want to blow an hour in a space shuttle or SR-71 those seem kinda boring honestly.

I'd have a hard time narrowing it down between about 25 or 30 birds, but I still think I wind up here:

Tough one. But as I'm actually planning to get the money together to fly a Spitfire one day. I'll leave that to one side. The F4u is up there but on the basis that only a miracle would grant me the opportunity to fly one it has to be a jet. The F16....or F18 or F15. I just can't decide. Then there's the EE Lightning or F22 or .......

That thing was a BLAST... And I have a flight in a WW2 T6 trainer coming up.. cant wait for that..

Best part is I get to take the controls, 30 min flight and approx 10 mins of flying it myself... I promise not to LawnDart it so lets get that out of the way.

Mosquito of course.

Mirage IIIc would be a close second.

There are many that could be close 3rd.
Mosquito VI - twice the spitfire, four times the ENY.

Which plane would you want to fly if you could get just one hour in it. (Assume you magically get the required training.)

I'll take Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal's A380 for an hour complete with his harem. Seriously, the most fun planes to fly for an hour as a pilot are the planes most people can take for a ride regularly with only a modest investment in time and money.
No gods or kings. Only Predator.
