Help a new guy out
« on: June 17, 2015, 02:36:05 AM »
Hi to all.
I am on my two week trial and mostly finding players helpfull.
However recently  I noticed my user name and the following  on the radio  (colon, x, foward slash) at this point I could not talk to anyone and seemed to be flying on my own.

Had I been kicked of the mission for some reason, I was not saying or doing anything other than trying to learn the game. There is a huge learning curve with what seems to be little understanding of how over powering joing in for the first few times can be.

Please be nice to new users we are only trying to be eccepted.

Hey jailor! Welcome to the addiction known as Aces High  :aok (you can never leave!!  :devil )

This game does have a massive learning curve and I recently was reminded of what it's like to be a new player when I started playing a new game the other day. There are a ton of players in this game that are willing to help, not just the trainers but regular players as well. There are some bad eggs here and there but everything in life has those people, it's unavoidable. Hopefully these bad eggs don't ruin your or anyone else's fun in this game as there just isn't anything else on the market right now that can compare to this game.

I have a few tutorial/tip videos on youtube if you want to check them out. There's a link to my channel in my sig below and under my avatar on the left. Vudu15 also does some awesome tutorial work as well. Just search on youtube for vuduvince. If you have any questions about the game then feel free to ask them here or in game.

Hope you have some fun in this game!  :salute

Jailor, to my knowledge there's no way to boot anyone out of a mission; so rest easy, that did not happen.

As to why you had radio problems, I do not know.

See if things work okay upon next log-in.

If you think no one is hearing you, check your radio control bar.

There are five channels in the radio control bar.  The first four are for text communications.  You will get any text, from other players, based on the four channels you have selected.

When you broadcast, by default, the text only goes out on the first channel.  So if you have it set to the mission channel, then only those in that mission will get the text.  Try setting the first channel to "Country" and that will allow you to communicate with everyone in your country.

Jailor,

I see you are in the UK,we have a trainer from there his name is Batfink ingame and mechanic on the BBS!   If you can look him up on the boards and send him a note via PM I bet you can set up a  time with him.

If that should fail you can find me in the training arena most nights,I'm on between 9pm and 11 pm est,so that may be somewhat late your time. I'm not able to log on during the day this week but I might be able one day next week so if you cant connect with Batfink/mechanic then give me a shout and I'll see if I can setup a day next week to help you out!

As I am a coffin dodger (retired 3 years)  I tend to go on in the day UK time. I am just about through my free two weeks and will be away on holiday in the states 27th June to 12th of July.

As you guys are all So helpfull i intend to pay to join on my return. I spent a long time in a clan playing Call of Duty and Brothers in Arms  some years back  and looking foward to gaming again. I cant belive how different Aces High is to play and how bad I am so I wll see you all shortly.

Thanks for all comments and stay safe.
