Im sorry, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings and poo-poo your idea.
I have always thought the earning of perks is just that, you EARN them. Just being on line at the right time isn't how you should get them. I'm a firm believer that if someone learns to earn their perks they will both play the game longer and be a better player, which is better for the game AND the community.
Those that post here pointing out the negatives of peoples wishes aren't just doing it to pee in your cheerios. They do it to point out issues the poster may not have thought about. To you free perks is a great idea and has some up sides. To many others they see all the tower sitter, ENY issues, and giving away of something that should be earned. Whats the point of dangling a "reward" in front of those willing to earn the perks if your just going to give them away?
I remember back when I was still a squeaker (good 8 years ago), we had the 1 hour rule. When the side who was obviously winning the war came to their last or second to last base, many would switch over to get those 75 (25x3) perks. At the time I lacked the 'skillz' to get perks for the most part, thus I got good in the land guns since I didn't have a stick for my first year of flying, and mouse/keyboard flying was very bad at best. Fast forward a few years later, and I look back on it. I agree, I think perks are earned, and taking advantage of others 'working' for it and you getting the same reward as them, I think is wrong. Perks really aren't hard to earn if you know how to play. The key is though, some do and some don't, and some don't have the time to 'master' a plane, while others do.
