Found him at Valley Forge!
« on: July 14, 2015, 08:22:43 PM »
I spoke earlier in the month in the 4th of July thread of one of our relatives assisted in defeating the British while fighting for George Washington's army...and that Our genealogy book claimed he was at Valley Forge in the winter if '77. (Thanks for keeping it updated Mom!)Well, now I have proof! We found William's name in bronze at Valley Forge, at the George Washington Memorial church! How cool is that? Here is a screen shot of our genealogy book page on William Thompson and the plague with his name (along with other photos of Valley Forge) Original Americans we are! Genetically speaking! :)

If you get the chance, check the archives they have available on their park website, www.nps.gov/vafo They have a lot of resources, including letters and orderly books, available online. I've tracked down quite a few guys through there over the past few years.
Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.
