Mission options
« on: July 28, 2015, 07:06:12 AM »
Mission planning is one of my favorite things to do in in AH, but the mission tool is lacking a few key features to really take advantage of it. As it sits now; I can pick load out, one field, and mission start time. Most of which can be done with a MEET A01 SE Heavy Fighters and Bombers, need goons too!. In fact some times that has been the best way to get participation as people tend to be scared of joining posted missions these days. Bottom line, without making multiple missions the planning tool as it sits does not provide enough options for a complex mission. And I'm not talking extreme complex, but a few things that would make coordination easier.

Suggestion for improvement:
Allow airfield options and offset start times for different flights for the same mission. IE, I want bombers to take off from A01 NE at 1000, and GVs to roll from A02 N at 1010.
Also the ability to highlight flight lead members. When I run a mission I prefer to give flight assignments and left and right limits then let the leads run their own guys so I don't have to micro manage every element, Then I just provide overall command and control.
IE... Bomb lead ensure airfield is shut down in one pass, stay within 500 of each other and stay between 15-17k assign targets as necessary
Escort, stay close enough to bombers to protect them. Allow bombers to complete mission before diving to field. priority is to gain air superiority and deack town.

Lastly, the ability to set waypoints per flight, instead of just for the whole element. Waypoints should only be visible once the mission has started. I know most will say, "what about spies?" I don't care about spies. I'm not going to let the slight chance someone is playing unethically keep me from planning fun effective missions. Thanks for the consideration.

You just "mostly" described the old mission planner which has been explicitly said will never see the light of day again.

At least this fulfills the yearly thread hoping for its return.
