Discoing
« on: August 06, 2015, 11:50:52 PM »
Me and some countrymen upped for a long long mission. 8-9 of us started out, only two made it to target because discoes and not being put back in our vehicles after reconnect within 5 mins. I was the last one to DC literally right before we got to target.....

Complete waste of time  :bhead

When we got to the target........there were two of us and he disco'd and that just left me.......and it wasn't the internet service, my router showed no errors. 7 guys go on a mission and 6 are knocked out of the game.....Throw another hamster in the treadmill so the server stays up.

If the AH server itself had gone down, everybody would had been discoed.

Furthermore, your "internet service" hasn't to go down completely to disco from AH. Just a single bad hop along the route may do that, and your router won't show anything wrong in that case, as it's just telling you if you are connected to the internet or not. And as closer to HTC a bad hop is located, the more AH players are potentially going through it and are discoed.
On the reconnect: There are only a limited number of AI slots available. On mass discos they are being used up by the 'first come, first served' method
Steam: DrKalv
E:D Snailman

Most of my discos is due to the network card on the computer. Reseting it solves the problem.

It is not server related and your personal connection to your ISP is about 1% of the potential problem.

Right now the Internet in the U.S. is under about a 35% increase in load due to Windows 10 downloads.  As Microsoft is doing that in a regional manner, expect problems to come to any given area soon, if it has not already hit you.

Yes, I would like to call Microsoft and tell them to cease and desist the downloads, as it is impacting our players, but I am pretty sure they will not pay attention to me.

If you want to isolate where the problem may be happening, it is as simple asd grabbing the free version of Ping Plotter and running it to any of the server IP addresses (see Internet sticky in this forum for those numbers).  If you do it right after a disco, you will have the best chance of catching where the problem is.

The goal is to have no entries in the "PL%" column.  Of course there will be "100%" entries in that column which can ignored as it simply means that router is not honoring the "ECHO ICMP" message Ping Plot uses for its network tracing.

upload, download speeds are unimportant. ping speed.... under 200ms and a steady ping, not much fluctuation is what your looking for. The other thing is PL% (packet lose). You showing your dumping a bunch. If the game sees you drop packets it discos you because those packets contain the "updates" of data in the game, plane position, yours and others and so on. If the game doesn't know where to place you, it boots you.

mikev, your immediate Internet connection is having issues.  If you are on cable, then you would be impacted by what your neighbors are doing, but I would be suspect of other problems.
