Cheap graphics card
« on: August 07, 2015, 04:39:43 PM »
I'm wondering what kind of graphics card that I need to run a 1920x1080 monitor at 60Hz. This computer isn't meant for gaming, it's just an HTPC. The graphics that is integrated CPU isn't powerful enough to get good frame rates when streaming videos at high resolution.

I just need to know how much memory the card needs and what speed it should run at. I'm hoping that I can spend less than $50.

1 to 2GB is more than enough.

I would get something like this, or exactly this actually: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487149

I have a GT630 in my HTPC that I bought about 2 years ago.  Also fanless.  Works just fine.  I frequently split the screen to output to my TV and another computer monitor in another room, it handles it without issues.
