All Voice Communications Not Working

Last night I started running AH with Wine on Ubuntu 14.04, but none of the voice communications are working. I can't hear other people's voices and when I tune to my own name I can't hear anything. There are no names of people that are talking in the top right. Range and channel beeps are on, and I can hear all of the other sounds in-game. I've tried restarting my computer and reinstalling AH completely, but still no luck.

an easy fix is to type in the text buffer .vreset and it resets the vox... try that and see what happens...

Not a lot of people got the game running on Ubuntu. I would look into sound issues through Ubuntu.

Its not anything in the OS, all sounds in and out of the game work except for the voice coms. I'll check in game what .vreset does now.

Im not sure how Ubuntu processes sound. There may be an issue with running multiple sounds at once. I know AH uses duplex sound cards. Half duplex wont work right. If Ubuntu doesn't process sound in duplex mode it may not work.

Voice comms use UDP protocols and the server runs on your computer with the client on the server.  It sounds like a network problem, if you are sure the devices the game is set to use for the microphone (Options->Preferences->Game Sounds) are correct.

I have everything on that menu set to pulseaudio, which is the Ubuntu sound manager and it recognizes my headset. And I have played AH no problem on internet connections slower than this so could it by something with my router blocking the packets somehow?

Absolutely.  A router has to be able to support UDP over NAT, and not be blocked either.
