PDF adjustment

Howdy guys....not sure where to ask this...but  here will do..

Is there a way to change margins for PDF. when converting from a program like excel/word etc to PDF I find the margins are not what I would like but just can't work out how or if you can change them.

Are the margins on the pdf larger than those on the original document? Also, what tool are you using for converting?

No. I would like to reduce margins...get closer to page edge.... I am just using the particular programs conversion option...I have used cute PDF in the past but now just click a button on the File drop down these days.... I usually use kingsoft.

The obvious way would be to edit the margins of the original document.

 I don't know about Kingsoft, I use Cute PDF myself. It allows scaling in the advanced options. Print -> Choose printer -> Options on the right of the printer drop down menu -> Advanced. Just tested: It appears to center the text horizontally no matter what the scaling is, starting from top of the document, though. I tested with a 500% scale and the center words/letters on the top rows were centered. On a two page document it cut all the excess from the bottom away instead of adding pages. Anyway, with the right scaling percentage it should work like you want.

Try to find similar settings in the applications you use.

Create the document in MicroSoft Word, set your margins as you like and save a PDF.

Cheers guys.... I will try look at the settings for cutePDF again...I can never get my header to as close to the top as I can in  word or excel... really quite frustrating.

Found the issue..... as with most issues computer....human input malfunction.
