Vers 1.03 after some observation

All in all, I would say it was a success.
Some early issue, most already dealt with.  New planes well recieved, new features keeps the game fresh.

A "Well Done" to the crew at HTC.

Ram,

I think you understated it.

AcesHigh version 1.03 patch 3 is without a doubt the most Awesome Online Combat Simulation Experience Available.

Bar none!

Yeager

Oh...did I say it was a pretty cool game too?

The additional effects and changes to the flight model (prop drag/speed brakes) and such merrit enough thanks alone.  The sunset and clouds present us with graphics not seen in an on-line sim today.  This upgrade was truly an upgrade that stands out.  I'd rather see 3 days of on-line "Beta testing" and finding all the bugs, than 3 weeks additional delay to find most of them.

Well done HTC!

As for the aircraft... thanks for those too.  Its nice to see the LW pilots have a new ride to call their own... and the presence of Zekes in the arena is the answer to any F4u-1C pilot's prayers  Keep em rolling!

I wouold have to say I give it a 7 out of 10. I have warps for the first time but only if there is a a lot of red cons around.

Ditching went from to easy too much to hard.

Killing tanks went from to easy to much too hard.

It seems like they cant dial a thing down. Its all or nothing.

No doubt it is a perfect game. I play games all my life, not only computer games, and at the moment I played AH more time, than any other game except Spades, Preferance, Chess and Wizardry VII and may be one or two more, not sure.

About 1.03. I think it is too big. It was issued with lot of bugs, though it is understandable with such a big update, but still frustrating. BTW, some frustrating bugs do not fixed yet, "can not leave until plane stoped" for example, which is quite unusual for HTC, just were too many from the start. I personally would prefer more often updates with less changes. It can make the adaptation less painful. Every new plane change a fight, every changer of ammo, armor, fm do it too. It was too shoking to have so many in a single update. Nights -- as they are now I do not like them, they are "the days with no sun". Longer nights with nights fighters/bombers and different radar system will be interesting, the way it is now it is just annoying. Winds were frustrating, but the way they were fixed is very good solvation, still I do not see what the wind give to a tactic, it is just another feature in a long feature list, with the current map you can not make a big use of the winds.

It is all IMO.

Fariz,

In AH, you always had to be stopped to exit the aircraft, that is not new.

Long nights would not be well recieved by the majority of players. And a night arena would not have anybody playing in it.  Too dark of a night would also not go over well, I have played in WB when they did a dark night for just a few minutes, and it was useless as we couldnt see to do anything.

Erm.. Dago... play the game a bit with 1.03.  Land the aircraft after running out of fuel or the engine dying for some other reason.  Coast/brake to a stop and try to exit.  Fariz is quite correct about his bug assesment and the level of frustration involved with this bug in particular.

Dejavu, he didnt mention the problem with it, he just mentioned that you "had to stop to exit".

I have played the game a bit since 1.03 came out.  Actually more than a bit.
I have never had trouble exiting an aircraft yet in it.  Every time I came to a stop, typed .ef, and I exited fine.  No bug there for me.

In the bug forum there is a thread about this bug: Planes still unable to stop on runway

The key quote in this thread was by Pyro himself:

HT found this bug today and the fix will be in the next patch. For now, you should be able to work around by leaving your engine on and pulling the throttle all the way back.

I'd say it qualifies as a bug.

That is exactly my point. I do not want nights at all in the MA, I want them in SEAs. It was always my position, and it is my position now. But I understand that whatever I will tell nights will stay in the MA. I just have some feeling now of what comments will be accepted by HTC and what won't be. Call it a sixth AH sence.   So what I am trying to do is to add some sence to the nights, because now they are too much arcade in my oppinion. Nights where day fighters find opponents and day bombers without any special devices can still bomb is not what I like. Also it seems MA is located on the stellar system with 2 suns, considering the length of the night. So IF we have nights, I just want them to be nights with all the attributes of the night warfare. OR I do not want nights in the MA at all.

I hope this time my English is not that bad to prevent you from understanding me

I'm sure we'll be seeing long nights in the SEAs. Back when -tomb- and I were organising the Chastise Raid along with MO in warbirds, they set an SEA for us with the time set to WarBirds night. We then proceeded to fly B17s (in place of Lancs) in the Euro terrain, without icons or map, from London to our designated 'fake dams'. Partly we were lucky because of good landmarks, but on the second run we forgot they'd also turned wind on, and hand to spend a little while finding the right spot on the coast to enter inland.

For best effect, we flew in 2D mode (pitch black except for the sparkles on the water =)

Flying a B17 at < 100 feet, 90% throttle, with a grandslam on board, with no icons, no visibility, et al, was scary. The only sign of altitude was those little sparkles... It was very intense. We both made it to our target, -tomb- dropped and pulled away only to get ack munched, I dropped and found I was too low and died in my own splash =)
