If you've ever flown over a base with a ground battle or spawn camp going, you might like this idea:

I would suggest having TWO range/local channels: one for air units, and one for ground units.  You would default to the channel based on the vehicle type you have chosen, but could manually tune (or switch) to talk on range to the other type (air or ground) when needed/desired.

I like this idea but I wish I could also listen to both if I wanted to.

So 3 options for range

- Push Air
- Push Ground
- Push Air/Ground

A RL military pilot friend of mine (now retired) says wingmen are only to speak when asked a question by lead or to announcer "Lead, you're on fire!" or "I'll take the fat one!"

Generally the Arrows banter on text, mostly with OddCAF threatening to send me film on supposed infractions by GreyGooz (we're building a case before we send it up to JAG.) We try to reserve our channel for combat vox, although a little conversation does pass through.
