X55 button stuck on in test screen
« on: October 06, 2015, 04:25:53 PM »
I have an X55 Rhino set up.

Just lost my "Look up" button to a problem with this stick.
Just happened to need it .....got me arse torn off.
It was mapped to my pinkie button on the stick.  I could map another button
and probably will but with try a few things first.

On the test screen for the stick, button 15 is stuck on.
On the test screen for the throttle mode button selector only lights up 32.  Mode 1
Mode 2 and 3 don't light 30 or 31 but 32 is off.

Uninstalled, reinstalled and all that ect..

Seen this problem?  Any help.

I sent a request to Saitek describing the issue.  Will let you know if I hear,

Thanks

Totally out of the box: Apparently the button on the stick moves as supposed, but does the initial micro switch underneath it work? Sometimes they get stuck, sometimes they shortcut. If you can feel a click, then it's not stuck but there may still be dirt preventing it to do its job. A screwdriver, a can of non-lubricating electric cleaner spray and a pair of steady hands might help, plus a large-ish table with good lighting.

I've got an older system by today's standards that still runs the game well by my standards.

Stuck buttons are irritating.

As mentioned, try to gently clean it.  I would try to put some canned air on it first, then test.  If that fails, hit it as mentioned with contact cleaner.

I wouldn't advise taking the stick apart, unless you do that sort of thing for a living.

Saitek offers a generous 2-year warranty.

I'm sorry you're having this problem.
