Capture the flag for cities?
« on: October 07, 2015, 12:34:19 PM »
Capturing cities was a big deal in WW2 and I feel we miss this in AH. We capture airfields and VH by leveling the place and/or flooding the area with mad dash jeeps.

Maybe we could also have cities in the map which have no VH/AF associated with them. They would originate spawn points like bases but said cities can be captured only by a country camping it's chore for a set period of time. That could generate some epic city warfare for tankers?
Dat jugs bro.

It would be interesting to be a must to win the map along with the other requirements.

Maybe a captured, deep planted city inside the green country  would reduce the % of bases to capture to win a map.

All out urban warfare set in WW2 is needed in AH. Ground supported battles, adding artillery vehicles, battles overhead fighting for control of the skies, close air support for dug in resistance!!!

We need that...

The alpha now and by extension AH3 has a capture the flag function. If you download the alpha and enter the online arenas you can test this in the capture the flag arena.

Both aircraft and GV can capture a flag and try and take it home to win. Or an aircraft could drop the flag on purpose at a multiple country GV spawn. You should ask Hitech how he will allow terrain builders to implement capture the flag. Maybe the AvA guys could place two GV bases near to each other on a GV only map inside of a mega city. There are many new terrain objects than before. Currently Hitech has the AvA guys and everyone else testing the terrain building editor.

As for an actual city that can be captured, we have never tested one for Hitech. That doesn't preclude laying down a massive amount of town and village and factories with a GV base in it that can be captured.

Download the alpha and check out the cities and TT offline.

This is like the old joke that voters are harsher to their beer brewer if he has an outage, than their politicians after raising their taxes. Death and taxes are certain but, fun and sex is only now.

A megacity CTF gv only would be awesome!
