In my experience it turns pretty well when it has E ( small window of carnage)  1-2 turns then extend. It will turn with more planes than you think.

SA is a must for several reasons. I prefer the E It has good guns it turns and thats about it.... perk points are almost always high espically with everyone in uber 5eny planes all the time.

I miss the Wep and the pony flaps the E use to have before it was updated.

P-40 had excellent high speed turn performance but are a bit hampered by the blackout modeling in the game. It turns well as long as it have enough E but its rarely enough to win the fight. If the con just dodge the first BnZ attempts he will have a rather easy job to reverse the E status and suck the P-40 into a turn or energy fight, and the P-40 suck at both.

If you need to fly tentative or careful the P-40 is not for you.  SA is key.    You do need to mix it up though.  Sure you might get a lucky B-n-Z but I dont count on that either.

The P-40n's roll rate is great!  Visibility best of the plane set too (except for nose over view F best there).

SA is not just limited to an immediate hostile area when in flight.  Think of it also when choosing a plane\target.  For me I consider the map, radar activity, enemy reports on country channel etc..  Then what would be fun and effective but not stupid perky to fly in that environment.

I'll choose a plane that I think is barely good enough for my skill set to get a kill in and no better.  Much of the time thats a P-40!

Using the SA described, the P-40 is not a plane to fly into a horde.  The F4u1-c can be fun there.  I use that to knowingly fly into hordes and no win situations.  :rock
