How to record with a third party program
« on: October 15, 2015, 01:49:44 PM »
I'm looking for a free, third party program to record AcesHigh with. Something that doesn't take up a lot of resources. AHF doesn't show my view and where I'm looking ect.

I know i'm asking for the moon here but If anyone knows a program please inform me.

What kind of graphics card do you have? If Nivida, try ShadowPlay. That what i use and its great! It runs in the background and starts up on its own when you start a game. You have the option to start/stop recording and you can setup the ShadowRecord. If your not recording but have a good fight that you want recorded, you can hit your shadow record and it can record up to the previous 20mins. Oh, and its free!

I'll ask for something simple then, use the search.  There are a number of threads on this topic, one in the last 6 months or so, so it should be easy to find.   :aok

This is the Captain.  We have a lil' problem with our entry sequence so we may experience some slight turbulence and then... explode.

Bandicam works well too.  Free is limited to 10 minutes at a time, but even a few minutes makes for a rather large file, 10 is outrageous.

Seriously, unless you need lossless recording (in which case use FRAPS), OBS is the best program you can use.  Its open source, has all the configuration opens of x264 if you care to understand and use it, or you can just select a preset and go.

Or if you use a (relatively recent) Nvidia GPU, you can use NVEnc, which is what powers Nvidia's Shadowplay.  With OBS's NVEnc, you have more options for your capture settings than Shadowplay gives you, and you don't have to install the awful GeForce Experience software, and it doesn't exact a penalty on your framerates at all.  For recording to hard drive, its what I recommend and use myself.

Loilo is free, has variable compression (quality), four stages of reduced resolution, three recording modes to choose from, and has minimal performance loss.

If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.
