Have you noticed that every other movie that comes out of Hollywood appears to be a re-make?
Don't they have any more original ideas?
The percentage of stuff that's a remake/based on something earlier really hasn't changed that much over the years, I think with the amount we're advertised at compared to before, it just feels like there's nothing new coming out. It just doesn't get noticed as much when you get the media blitz for the latest Fast and Furious/Marvel movie.
It wouldn't bug me that much if they remade stuff that was a good idea, but done poorly the first time around, but most of the remakes are of stuff that was well done in the first place, and more often than not the remake isn't a patch on the original. I will never forgive them for what they did to Get Carter, for example.
