This Week in AvA----- Operation Sealion

Operation Sealion

As early as November, 1939, Hitler was contemplating
suppression of England and removing her as a threat
to his plans for domination of Europe. Over the next
year, studies were undertaken for landing troops on
English beaches and if necessary, occupying the
whole country.

For our purposes, we'll ignore the failure of the
Luftwaffe to win the Battle of Britton in the late
summer of 1940; and the devastating losses to the
Kriegsmarine in the successful conquest of Norway in
April of that same year. Additionally, the operation
depended upon rendering defenseless, the British
coastal installations which are non-existent in the
current terrain.

In this setup, the Axis have captured the English ports
of Folkestone and Dover, and spread inland capturing
three more bases, V13, A15 and A17.

The British must throw the Hun out of England, and
Germany needs to capture London. Of course, if
things become too out of balance, a Staffer will
reset the bases and up troop capture requirements,
but short of that, base capture is on to give
players something to do when the arena has low
numbers.
