We don't have a map problem in AH.   The only "problem" in AH, is the individual player and his or her opinion... and all around lack of flexibility.

The bigger problem is the other players trying to pass off their "opinion " as a fact.

Given the amount of love given to all the hard work people have put forth to provide maps to the player base, not for any amount of money in the world will I ever make a map.

It's the players not the map that makes map making a non-starter for me...

Most ridiculous thing I've read for a while.
games are made to suit the players needs and take a chunck of their money, not the way around. Somehow HTC managed to convince a lot of the players that they don't need a better game, which is impressive. Maybe HTC should run a government.

This is also a strange comment, given that HTC is nearly done designing Aces High III.

Perhaps you are unaware HTC has been working on AH III and recently announced that it will be released in open beta very soon.

For those of us playing this game for well over a decade, Aces High is more of a social club. The game just provides the framework. I keep logging in for the people and Pipz was the kind that you keep coming to meet again.

I'm aware of it, IIRC AH2 engine is from 2004? That illustrates well the conservative nature of this game.

Every map has something to offer.

You just have to vary your mission types.

If you fly the same mission over and over, then some maps will certainly not appeal to you.

I liked all the maps and was happy to have a fun online game to play! It was the loss of players and empty arenas that finally did me in. Hopefully things will pick up and ah3 will be a success!  =<--O--O-->=

Only map gripe I have SMFA Map.  Logged in to that map tonight. MAde one flight and logged out. No big deal. I'll just go do something else until that map rotates out. I think HiTech should refund me a dollar for everyday that map is up. LOL

When I read a gripe about a map the first thing that comes to my mind is... if you don't like the map shut up and make one then. Players need to understand maps are created by us the players not HTC. To any player who takes time out of his own daily routine and schedule to try and do something nice for all of us I give them thanks and a  :salute. So many feel its OK to belly ache and piss and moan about a problem but offer absolutely nothing toward a solution. HTC made the terrain editor available for all who would like to try to make a map. Maybe then others will see the time and difficulty involved in making maps and appreciate the efforts of those who have actually completed ,submitted and had their maps included in the rotation. Sure some of the maps may get old after years on end I do understand but have a solution or a map to submit after you finish your gripe. Just my 2 cents minus 3 pennies :bolt:

Maybe they understand that and feel that is the problem.

Perfect!  You couldn't have done a better job of proving my point, in trying to refute my point.
