An improved way to access the dot down command information.
« on: January 02, 2016, 04:02:32 PM »
Hello, tunes here ...

I would like a more user friendly way to retrieve the objects being down time then entering dot commands.

Dot commands are dangerous when flying. Could we have a menu pull down that say. I want to find out the status of A50. You pulled down the new menu. enter the base and enter.

You get all objects down times at A50 and Town. This so you could find out times and overall
Sit Reps of A50 base and town in a nice list. Maybe able to be used like the Country Status or War status in a rewritten style. Even a format like EB3 type menus. This could also be expanded to give the Sit-Rep on all country's strates also.

Much less typing. Much more information on the war. Keeping your hands on flying and mind on Situation Awareness of the Combat on the map.

If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.

+1

Go back to the old way, with just hangars, ords and radar status available.

Not sure which is sillier: having up to the minute rebuild times on every enemy object, or the tedious button pushing required to find out.
"Then out spake brave Horatius, the Captain of the gate:
To every man upon this earth, death cometh soon or late.
And how can man die better, than facing fearful odds.
For the ashes of his fathers and the temples of his Gods."

whilst I like the real time information the dt command provides it does make things extremely easy.

Remove town resupply ( base resupply never had a problem with)
Remove dt commands because it should be down to the players to communicate and check whether a town is white flag.

You have always been able to go to arena settings>destroy objects> select e field of interest and see which objects are up or down.

What you cannot see here is the time left out standing before they repair.

Useful for checking gguns though......

I actually like the old way...

Hey, how much time left on that hangar?
Not sure...think it went down about 10 minutes ago.
Keep your eye on it and let us know when it pops back up.

You know, communication, coordination and "fog of war". I know it's old-school and archaic, but I think those skills (requirements?) are a part of the game that made it more fun back then.

Personally I'm all for making the info unavailable as Imadot says, but if it's got to be in the game, it would be really nice if there was a GUI interface for it.  If info's going to be there, it should be clear and accessible even to a 2 weeker.  That goes for all of the info in the game.

If only people would do this with the HQ. "Oh man we can't find fights" "How do we know if GVs or planes are attacking" waa waa cry cry cry.... haha

I totally agree with this. Either make a really easy to use system to check downtimes or remove the ability to check downtimes.

We need downtime checks because objects pop unexpectedly. In the old system, the smoke and flames would disappear a few min before hangars would pop. There were no instant ressuply pops so this warning was enough. Building and guns in the town give no smoke and you cannot capture a base while they are up. You also cannot make sure that they stay down while the troops are running - you have to wait for them to pop and then destroy them again. This is the main reason you need downtime information.
