Settings File
« on: January 21, 2016, 12:29:43 PM »
I hope this helps more people than just me. When I installed the Beta, I copied my entire "Settings" file from "II" to "III". Some posts I read cued me that this was a mistake.
With most candy turned off I could barely get 20 to 30 frames.
I tried a reinstall with no files copied from AHII. It is time consuming to reset views and keys but it was well worth it. FPS now runs 45 to 60 with all eye Candy at the default settings.
Not sure if it was the folder copy or just a better install.
Good luck all.

From the sticky post Settings files you can use from the current game

The files with the following extensions may be copied over, from the current game "settings" folder.
------------------------------------
*.JSM
*.KMP
*.HPS

The "planes" folder may also be copied over.

"Skins" are not supported yet.

Please do not copy any of the *.CFG files over.

?

nothing was mentioned whether if we could copy over and use the *.pwl files from the AH2 settings/planes folder.......

was just this just an oversight, or can we use them or can we not use the .pwl files as well?

same question, regarding the .slv files ( saved salvo settings , I think these are iirc? )

thank you in advance!
