CM Eye The squirrels with cameras
« on: February 03, 2016, 09:38:56 PM »
If you have never used Tower God’s Eye then you have missed one of HTC’s greatest gifts to you as a player.  First you need to map the key.  On your clipboard go Options: Controls: Mapkeys: Views.  The second option down is CM Eye Move Forward.  Please map that key to F7 and save.  In Sea 1 the map is up for Combat Challenge Nef’s Birthday Practice.  You can either go to that arena or build a custom arena.  In the arena, hit F5 to activate CM eye.  Pull your throttle back to only about 1/3.  Hold down F7 and you are off!   Hold down F7 to move forward.  To return to the tower simply hit F1.  Hit F5 and you are off again. The more throttle you use, the faster you move across the map.   Now, want to see the level that HTC puts into this game?  Hit F5 and fly slowly around the field.  By the Radar is a set of trees.  Behind those trees are two camouflage Quonset buildings.  In CM eye fly slowly inside.  Now post here and tell me the types of the three planes on the wall from the GI Identification charts?  No Smoking!  See what your uncle Plissken can teach you??? With the permission of HTC and you’re your friendly neighborhood CMs.  Ohhh, did you know the squirrels with cameras are for your protection?

You can also map the move backwards. I have a 4-way on my stick for forward/backward. Rudder will yaw and your stick will pitch/roll. Once you get used to it, CM Eye is a lot like flying your plane...except you can fly 1200 mph, stop on a dime and hover.

Of course, the arena setting must be set to allow non-CM's to use this feature.

The TA is setup so you can use and try CMeye mode.  So is the DA,often I would watch a few friends duel and then give a check 6..... :devil

Otherwise they would have no idea I was there......

I finally figured out how to use the CM eye correctly during the last KOTH  :rock....I cant tell you how cool it was to watch the fights in this mode...I almost look forward to the next KOTH so after I get killed I can thoughtfully puff on my cigar and figure out how not to hit the ground... :uhoh

CM Eye rules for Photo recon as well. You can fly to an enemy field and take screen shots!

using the plus (+) and minus (-) keys to manipulate speed, I can only go full speed or dead stop. Why won't they work so I can fly slowly? any ideas?

edit: to get it to move I must hit shift +. There is no in-between.

What do you use for your throttle when flying planes? It's the same controller for the movement speed while in CM Eye mode.

This is good stuff.  Have never tried this.

This info because of the directions in the first post should be placed into the top row items so it's there for all in the future.  Please Relabel to something like how to use God mode.

When I'm at work I use the + - keys for throttle control.

edit: ok it's not the + kett for throttle up, it's the = key, but same problem: either stop or all out, no slowing down....yet.

There are 3 modes for CM Eye.
In addition to Move Forward and Move Back, CM Eye Move Map is available.
For this, set a key. Probably not the M key in your case but that's what many use.
Set your throttle to full.
Press your Move Map key and you look straight down.
Tap your CM Eye Move Backward key to gain altitude.
Hold down the Move Map key and shift your joystick or mouse to move.
You will always be looking down for a crows eye view.

Your maximum speed will depend on the Max throttle setting, and your current speed will be a percentage of that max speed based on your joystick input.

Easy in-game again.
