when a base changes hands
« on: February 12, 2016, 04:00:57 PM »
Don't you hate when people are vulching you one minute and the next, hiding in the same ack they were trying to destroy?

How about the town has to be resupplied until the flag is no longer white?   The auto ack would be non-functional until that moment.

Ords, radar, barracks and fuel remain down, so why does auto ack magically change targets, even if it was just blown up?

Much worse is rolling a perky plane just as the base changes and the auto ack shreds you as you are rolling, but no, nothing needs to be changed, it is part of the game, part of the anticipation and shock as the change occurs.

Not that that has ever occurred.        (Wiley)

Based on recent experience, I wouldn't mind if it were changed. ;)

But seriously, not entirely sure it's a great idea.  If there's opposition, things seem to be quite stagnant in most cases these days.  If I'm reading this wish right, they'd have to defend as well as resupply freshly taken bases.

While I like the idea that they don't get to just move on to the next base and not have to defend, I think it might result in even less side movement when there's opposition.  Although I do like the idea of a couple committed players coming in behind the horderoll taking back the bases they just continued on from.

The ack comes back up to prevent immediate recaptures.  Otherwise the other side could just drop troops and immediately recapture the base.  This way, you have to at least spend the time to kill the ack, which only takes a couple of minutes, before you take the base back.

The ack respawn is the equivalent of "no tag backs" in a game of tag.
