Couple of nights ago we had just taken back a slew of bases occupied by deadbeat renters. The action died down and I thought I would hit ordnance at 129 by lifting from 201.
When I got there Bluefin had taken down all the ammo bunkers and radar as well. Might as well hit town then. First salvo out was a salvo of 3 bombs for one building. Then I quickly salvoed to one bomb and finished hitting the town. Never was an upper.
So I said over country anyone want to do an noe (not expecting any takers). Much to my surprise a slew of folks did. We meet on the runway at 200. While waiting on one guy to land an upper appears and hits enters our radar. I said off the runway. Which has several meanings LOL. Well some towered and some lifted.
The fighters greet the foe and dispense with him. Then an f6 arrives. Now there's a carrier. Someone sinks the carrier in short order. The mission has yet to even lift. Finally I take off hoping others would follow. 9s and SEagle are there already in Bombs and a goon. Now the radar pops at 129. Scratch the noe.
I head that way and say climb. One guy hit the vh but didn't kill it. So I thought I would finish it off. I did but AkCaine is there in a manned gun and I crash. Now if you don't know Akcaine he fights ferociously for any count the Arabian Knights are flying. I thought wow. Now we're scattered and AkCaine is there.
I head back and I think AkCaine kills the goon and maybe some bombers. Since the vh is down I drop my eggs and rockets on town. Then some others make arrive and lo and behold another goon arrives. One of the guys kills a couple more buildings and the town is white flag. The goon comes in while an 88 is shooting at him. I think that pesky AKCaine. I'm sure he's calling for all kinds of help but no one else shows.
Somehow the 88 misses the troops and we capture the base. I was humbled by how everyone handled the challenges of the CV, the enemy con, and the just the way the everyone adapted so well.
