A1 tower frame rate with everything turned off is 387 FPS, about the same as beta 5.

The clouds are not jumping in their very close LOD state, but they are jumping a little in the next-LOD-out state.

I like the new vegetation at lower alts, it is more in scale with the buildings and the trees types used are what I would expect to see in northern Europe. Having a tree-less grass tile is a very useful tool to have as well. Apart from being able to clear runways and SBs I can now create open cover-less expanses that GVs will have to either cross or skirt.

I really dislike the vegetation and buildings in the snowy areas however. I know it was me who suggested some more cover in the snowy areas but my idea was for snow-covered vegetation and buildings. Having snow on the ground but none on the branches of trees and roofs of buildings looks awful and ruins the realism of the mountains on CraterMA. Please change the upper three tiles back the way they were.

Engine sound issue persists but you're on the right track. Engine sound started but quit after a few seconds. film included. Thank you.

Download seemed to work fine, but at the end I received this message:

"patch failed for the following files:  C:\Hitech Creations \Aces High Alpha Game \ahskview.exe

Went back to the desktop after that, no "would you like to start AH now" or anything like that.  But when I double-clicked the Alpha/Beta icon, the game booted fine and I was able to fly around and land without unusual experiences.

Same here.  This has happened before in the alpha and early beta (1&2).

Greebo, I think Waffle's messing with us! LOL

Snowy terrains with our current conifers would be okay. That's how the Sierras look from a distance a day or so after some wind and sunshine.

I went to Speedtree looking for snow dusted trees. They don't have any. IMO what we need is nearly leafless oaks, birch etc with or without snow for the winter terrains.
Also welcome would be some snow dusted evergreen bushes (non collidable) lining farm fields, and some buildings with snow dusted on top.

I can't quit the game without following up with Alt F4 or Ctrl Alt Del.

Graphics test -

Loaded -      88fps (average)
Unloaded - 143fps (average)

Observations:
FPS average is the same in the tower as in flight (+/- 5%)
No shadow flicker in either regime
Clouds are awesome and realistic in changing lighting conditions (moving them around the cockpit).

Comment:
Reflections and shadows are still distracting to my eyes (jagged-looking) and I will probably turn them off in normal circumstances.

The project is looking mighty fine.   :aok

Auto update didnt work, downloaded then kept asking if I wanted to resume download. Had to uninstall and re-download beta, installed fine. including a SS of an anomaly. Also had some wierd flickering of just on section of the night sky, tried filming it, but it didnt show up on the film. Attached film, maybe you guys can see something anyway.

This has been happening since Alpha.

When I try to take a screen shot, Alt S, it takes two or three tries before it works for me. I'm in the habit now of banging away three times and then checking to see if it worked before I move.

On the shadow flickering issue on my box:

I did a reboot after I saw this & went back into the game & the flickering was gone.

So I began to start snooping around in my box & noted that the vers of MSI Afterburner that I was using was outdated (using vers 4.1.1 which was the last vers that was written before the AMD driver UI change from MS Framework 4.5 to MS UT Framework....may have been causing issues w\ new AMD Radeon Settings\Crimson 15.x drivers...noticed that this vers couldn't identify the new drivers....showed Catalyst 15.8 vers).

Deleted current version Afterburner 4.1.1 & loaded latest vers Afterburner 4.2.0 & latest vers RivaTuner Stastistics Server & all is well now....correctly reading (and most importantly, correctly hooking) the new Radeon Crimson 15.12 WHQL drivers that are currently loaded on my box.

While I was at it I also went onto my cFoss GameFirst latency control software (yes I probably shouldn't have this software loaded but I do) & had it to do a line recalibration between my box & my router (Zoom X7 ADSL Router\WAP) as I had also been noticing some stuff trying to access my connection while in the game (could see white square boxes flicker periodically in the background in the area around the notifications tray approximate to where my cFoss icon is located).

I have gone back in the Beta several times since doing all this & it shows that all the flickering has ceased.

So the shadow flickering issue that I reported shows to have been created on my end.

At first Avast blocked the update, but after shutting it down for 10 minutes the 17 or so minutes update went fine.

Went to the AvA and took a P39. Frame rates were between 55 and 90 using the Frame Rate Testing settings.

The forests looked nice! Low and dense enough to look realistic and also pretty much right colour for that landscape. However, the species were wrong. Birch, alder, pine and spruce is what grows on the Karelia map. Well, maybe they were alder, but it doesn't grow in such large forests, it's mixed up with the birch and spruce, whereas pine dominates the drier places.

I noticed no crash sound while crashing, the engine sound just stopped. No thud, no crash, no twisting metal.

I tried to test the new view with the .target 300 command. Lined up with the center line and pressed x. Pulled the trigger for all guns, zoomed in and out every once in a while. After the big rounds had been used, there was no gun sounds until I zoomed again after which the smaller guns jumped in. Also, I could not find any holes on the target.

No. If I play your AH film it would look like my films. You can post a screenshot to show what you see but if you want to show video like you see you'd have to make one from the AH film.
