Your looking at ocean. It is not drawn as a 3d object but rather the  points are inverse projected to the 3d world from a flat grid.

Disable ocean, then look at the land wire frame it will move as you expect.

HiTech

opps, You got me there. However, the wire frame is so subtle as to be almost invisible for me. JPG 2 shows a higher view and JPG 3 is very close up. For my eyes, the wire frame is invisible until at the "perfect" distance and then I can't see all of it.
I zipped the sample terrain and it's also attached. Ocean is -200 and land is 1000. When I run the cursor over the terrain, the Y value over ocean and land will bounce 1 foot toward zero.
Easy in-game again.

If I put a decimal place in you would see it is only a .99999 truncation error. If it is really important I could round the number instead.

As to the color of the line draw, it is very very difficult to choose a color. The line draw is a single global setting in the directx api that is turned on.
The textures still draw on the line creating the colors. You can make them more visible by adjusting the time slider.

Excellent!

The time slider was the missing part I needed!

Now that I know what's causing the bounce, I don't think it will be so distracting and I think I can deal with it. I'm still somewhat worried about setting exact alt's for some objects like bridges placed into the terrain, but testing your bridges suggests a GV won't dive through the ground if the ramp is below ground, so it should work with the new version.
Easy in-game again.

For this version, the TBM can't set convergence.  No plane weights visible in hangar.

Not liking the damage sounds from AA hits.  AH2 sounds better.

Ditching on grass gives the same screeching sound as ditching on steel runway.

Can't seem to zoom in on map.

Recurring Issues:

Still can't ditch in the water at speeds well under 100 mph, which results in instant death.  Can ditch on land at speeds over 150 mph. Ditching in water at any speed results in instant death

The engine noise in the cockpit changes dramatically when looking around:

Front Left view/Front Right view louder than default Front view.
Straight Back view louder than default Front view.
Up/Back Left and Up/Back Right are louder than Up/Front Right and Up/Front Left.

The worst is the Up view.  It is the loudest and also sounds choppy.  Can't believe no one else has heard this.  Hold view with hat or keyboard and it's unmistakable.

Bugs found from a tank fight in Tankland tonight:... <cut>

Forgot to mention: all the bugs I mentioned were seen and commented on by several other players so it's not just my system.

How close were the tanks you were looking at?

Looking around doesn't change the sound very much for me but it seems the wrong stereo channel gets louder looking to the side.

Looking up sounds bad but you don't notice that with TrackIR.  :D

So far the Beta is performing very stable while in flight on my box.

Makes AH II seem dated now performance-wise.

Kudos on the performance of this Beta to date as I can only see it getting even better!

HiTech

Tracks moving and yaw oscillation: very close, i.e. 0 to ca 500 yds?
Pointing the wrong way and turret pointed differently from firing direction: maybe 1400 yds and beyond.

Looking upward from beneath the P-51D, you can see the sky through the spent shell casing ejection ports in the bottom of the wing.

Forgot to mention the above was in the FW190D9, which is still missing the ball under the gunsight. Other aircraft sound normal.

More of a suggestion but I would like to see destroyable aircraft at the bases that, when destroyed, take a couple of hundred pounds off of the amount needed to drop a hanger.

Patch 10, sorry MAJOR complaint, not the only one experiencing this.

Not sure why but out of the blue, we had a CTD.  We all rejoin the game, the game tries to return us to flight, then CTD immediately.

We rejoin again and we're down to zip, no return to flight but back to base or origin.

Aggravating, but still loving the new version!
