This game is still awesome, and now they have gone and made it EPIC! :rock

When I first got Homeworld, I couldn't stop drooling at the graphics, and the story just locked me in.  Oh man...  But the screenies I see on Steam for remastered... :x  I need to keep a close eye on it, so I can pick up the CE version.  I WANT THAT SHIP DAMN IT! :rock :x

Annnd, I just watched someone butcher a perfectly good chance of nabbing a Tiidan Heavy Cruiser in the Supernova Research mission. :cry

Just watched the full panel from PAX South.  So much epicness being displayed....  Personally, I feel the Original Garden's voice was much more ominous than the Remastered.  But they still did a nice job. :x

Despite the restrictions, this mod has proven to be quite fun.  Though I am curious to how well he'll be able to adapt the mod to the upcoming change in the engine.  Movement/formations are being rewritten.  This could mean that HW1 Corvettes may be a bit more useful now, as in something other than a waste of resources!

I loved it when it came out, a Canadian company here in Vancouver produced it way back when.  It was on sale on the latest Steam sale for really cheap, I think 6$ and I grabbed it, and have been playing through campaign one.  I forgot how well the cutscenes were done for 15+ years ago now -  a truly great game, IIRC it won a pile of awards for "best game" from all the big gaming magazines of the day.

Once I finish HW2 campaign I'll try some mods out.  I just hit the mission in HW1 where if you fly your cap ships into a certain spot you lose them all, and my save game film corrupted for some reason, so I have to start over a mission back or two and rebuild again as I am having trouble navigating sometimes, the 3d function doesn't work quite right in the mod, trying to click your course can be troublesome I've found, hence the flying of my destroyer formation into the nono zone and losing em all in the first place.

There are things that will be noticeable, especially if you were hardcore into the Freespace series.  However this is very highly likely due to the restrictions of the game itself.  What the modder managed to do is amazing, and I honestly feel like I'm playing Freespace from a different perspective, rather than playing HW2 with a FS mod. :x
